2017 SUMMER CAMP SIGN UP DAY - SATURDAY, APRIL 15

Location: 215 E. Fulton Street - Main YMCA

Camp Anderson: 8:30am-12:30pm (MEMBERS ONLY - FRIDAY, APRIL 14)

Y's Kids Day Camp: 8:30am-12:30pm (MEMBERS & ENROLLED FAMILIES ONLY - APRIL 10 thru APRIL 14 at Childcare Admin)

Camp Anderson has been exciting, motivating, and inspiring more than 7,000 kids every summer for more than 50 years. Located on Lake 16 just east of Conway, Camp Anderson is 40 acres of nature that sparks imagination, builds self-esteem, forges friendships and gives kids the summer they will always remember. Safety, high-quality staff, YMCA core values and great activities are the foundation of our camp. Campers will spend their time at Camp Anderson on Lake 16 doing things such as archery, arts & crafts, small group games, sing songs, skits, swimming, canoeing, pedal boating, fishing, team building activities and games in the woods!  Campers also enjoy fun filled field trips to the waterslides, baseball game, aquarium and other exciting locations in the area.

• Camp Anderson is available for children/teens entering grades 1-9
• Located at Lake 16 in Mount Vernon
• Each week is packed with exciting activities like canoeing, archery, hikes, arts & crafts, skits, gaga ball, team activities, and a weekly field trip.
• Campers are dropped off & picked up at YMCA Sports Center
• Register for week 1 through 9 (7 week max)

Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm
(
extended care available from 7:30am-5:30pm)

CAMP ANDERSON IS BROKEN UP INTO 4 AGE GROUPS:
Explorers, Trailblazers, Challengers, and Leadership in Training.

EXPLORERS & TRAILBLAZERS
Explorers: Entering grades 1-3
Trailblazers: Entering grades 4-6
• Field Trip Days on Wednesdays
• Special Events on Thursdays
• Every Friday morning is spent playing Capture the Flag in the Camp Anderson woods!

CHALLENGERS
• Safety, high quality staff, YMCA core values, and great activities are the foundation of our adventures!
• Kids entering grades 7-8
• Challengers is a fun, field trip based, day camp
• Mondays & Fridays are spent at Camp Anderson on Lake 16
• Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays are spent on field trips
• Every Friday morning is spent playing Capture the Flag in the Camp Anderson woods!
• Camp Anderson time will be spent doing archery, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, team building activities, skits, games in the woods, and much more!

LEADERS IN TRAINING PROGRAM (LIT)
• Teens entering grade 9
• Goals of the LIT camp program are to teach the general skills of leadership that can be used at school, home, and community (not just at camp)
• Curriculum includes working with younger kids at camp, classwork, observing counselors, and then discussion
• Each session (101, 102, & 103) will be different
• Program gives age-appropriate challenges that build skills, confidence, and capacity for working with people of all ages
• Program also prepares participants for applying for the CIT (Counselor in training) if interested
• 4 day sessions. Limited space. 6 spots per session.

Outside of Camp Anderson: 3-8 grade P.E. teacher at Bay View Elementary and spends time with his lovely wife and four great kids.

• Junior and Main Counselor applications for Camp Anderson will be accepted until March 10, 2017 or until positions are filled.
• CIT - Ongoing until filled.
