Bob Shrumm - Chief Executive Officer
Bob first joined the YMCA in his hometown as a youth in 1961 and has never left the organization. Through his Y professional career that started in 1974, he has worked in YMCAs in both Canada and the United States with roles from a youth program director to YMCA senior management.  Bob joined the Skagit Valley Family YMCA as the CEO in 2004.   He is motivated by his role as CEO of our YMCA because “it is one of the few roles that one can have where you have the ability to impact a whole community in a positive way!” Bob has been a Rotarian for over 25 years, and has been actively volunteering with leadership Skagit for the past 10 years.  In his spare time he loves to tinker on his 1974 MGB roadster.

Roosevelt Smith, Jr. - Branch Manager
Roosevelt oversees the day to day operations and staff at the Fulton Street Branch, Sports Center and Camp Anderson.  Roosevelt completed his Associate of Arts Degree from Highline Community College and then received his Bachelor’s Degree from Central Washington University.  He is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Skagit.  In his free time, Roosevelt enjoys watching various sports.

Mary Udman - Finance Director
Mary is responsible for semi-monthly payroll for 160 employees, as well as creating and managing the budget for the Skagit Valley Family YMCA.  She oversees Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and produces monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors and all department directors. Along with the payroll responsibilities it goes hand in hand with Human Resources and managing employee benefits, the Affodable Care Act, FMLA etc. Outside of work – twice a year she goes on quilting retreats and likes to spend quiet time at home with her sewing machine, is an avid reader and loves going to the theater in Seattle.  She also loves spending time with the most awesome grandkids around.

Renata Maybruck - Development & Campaign Director
Renata oversees annual support and capital project fundraising, communication pieces like the newsletter and Camp brochures and marketing for the YMCA. Renata received her BA in Cultural Anthropology from Western Washington University and her MSc in Anthropology and Development from the London School of Economics. She has fifteen years experience in non-profit work, specializing in fundraising and capital campaigns. When not at work, Renata enjoys reading, camping and spending time at the beach with her husband and two children.

Jennifer Pitner - Development & Campaign Coordinator
Jennifer supports the capital campaign and marketing for the Y. Jennifer received her BS in Business Administration focusing on marketing and management from Central Washington University. She worked previously for the Skagit Valley Family YMCA for 5 years; her passion for the Y brought her back to be part of building a new Y for our community. Outside of work, Jennifer stays active and busy with her husband, two boys, daughter, two dogs and cat.

Shirley Chu - Child Care Program Director
Shirley manages all of the Y Early Learning and Childcare Centers, Preschool and School Age Programs including Y'Kids Summer Camps.  Shirley has a degree in Early Childhood Education, and has worked in the field of early education for the past 25 years, the past eleven years with the Y. The Y programs serve children ages 1 year through 12 years of age. Shirley has a strong passion for developing and maintaining programs that lay a strong foundation which will serve the whole family.  "It takes a village"!  The mission of our Y and childcare programs is represented in the collaborative community work we do to meet the needs of children and families.  In her down time Shirley can be found bench warming with her family enjoying the many sports her seven grandchildren participate in.

Teresa Zumwalt - Child Care Program Assistant
Teresa oversees the before and after school programs and summer day camps which service children ages 5-12. She thoroughly enjoys her part in helping the Y meet the need of the community. The programs provide a safe, positive and caring environment where children can grow, have fun and be themselves.  She directed a site of her own for 7 years before she came to oversee all the programs. When she is not at work she enjoys, hiking, camping and watching sports, especially the Seahawks! She was raised in Michigan and moved to Washington after she graduated from Western Michigan University in 2005 and began her adventures with the Skagit Valley Family YMCA.

Darci Hart - Child Care Office Manager
Darci recently joined the Early Learning & School Age Programs as the Business Manager. She brings with her over 20 years of office/billing experience, after many years working in the medical field she decided she wanted a change and coming to a nonprofit organization would be rewarding. Darci is in charge of the billing and accounts for all of our 16 sites. She was born and raised in Skagit County, she has two girls of her own. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter and looks forward to the birth of her grandson in the fall.  She is a HUGE Seattle Seahawks fan and takes pride in showing off  all of her Seahawk memorabilia in her office and her home.

Marty Reese - Camp Anderson Director
Marty is responsible for hiring camp staff, training staff, organizing field trips, camp daily scheduling, camp day to day operations, and keeping campers safe while they have a blast at Camp Anderson! The YMCA core values are a focus of his in all the parts above. Marty is a 1994 graduate of Burlington-Edison High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Central Washington University. Marty is a PE teacher/coach at Bay View elementary in the Burlington-Edison School district during the school year and YMCA Camp Anderson Director during the summer. When he is not doing his enjoyable full time work he spends it with his four wonderful kids: William, Peter, Anthony and Mary. They truly bring him so much joy. On the side, to keep healthy physically and mentally he likes to run and lift weights. Long runs out on the Skagit flats are a favorite of his.

Amy Cheadle - Health & Wellness Director
Amy keeps the fitness classes and weight room running smoothly for the Y, also supporting community events. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Western Washington University. Amy’s fitness certifications include ACE Group Fitness Instructor, Yoga, Silver Sneakers & LIVESTRONG Certifications. Amy loves to spend time with her husband and two children. She enjoys mountain biking at Galbraith Mountain and Whistler and hiking with her family.

Jacob Clem - Sports Director
Jacob organizes and schedules leagues, referees, and coaches for all YMCA youth and adult sports. He also manages and schedules all facility rentals, birthday parties and other events that take place at the YMCA Sports Center. He also leads Bitty sports practices and referees youth sports. He was born and raised in Skagit Valley and has a heavy sports background. He played baseball for the University of Washington and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He loves all sports and believes everyone deserves an opportunity to play!

Jenny Stamm - Oasis Teen Shelter Case Manager
Jenny has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 38 years, and had her first social work experience as an Antioch College Work-Study intern at The Teenage Club of Juneau, Alaska in 1967. She is very pleased to “come home” to working with youth, families and people who are passionate about helping them. Jenny grew up in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Alabama and Georgia.  After extensive travel in Latin America and becoming bi-lingual, Jenny lived in San Francisco for 11 years. She moved to Seattle in 1980 and worked at what is now known as “Seattle Children’s Hospital” for 15 years in Pediatric Oncology, Rehab, and Child Abuse Team. Other experience has included working at Community Health Centers, Providence Children’s Center, Sea Mar Behavioral Health in Mount Vernon, and the VA Clinic of Port Angeles. Jenny is a Certified Cat Lady, and adores her Sidekick, Gillie, a 5 year old Furry Bundle of Love.
