Here at the Skagit Valley Family YMCA, our cause is to build the foundations of the Skagit community. The Y is a place for all and we aim to ensure that no one is left behind. We are excited to be partnering with our friends at Community Action to offer an important service to individuals experiencing homelessness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning Tuesday, April 14th, we are opening our Universal Locker Room to provide shower access to those in our community who need it. As they leave, our wonderful childcare staff will provide bag lunches to send them on their way. Our friends at Chinook Enterprises have graciously provided face shields for our staff who will be providing this service to our community. We are so grateful for this opportunity to partner with amazing organizations like Chinook and Community Action!
In order to ensure the safety of all, this service will be completely separated from our emergency childcare program at Hoag. Those utilizing the service will not have access to the rest of the building so our emergency childcare program can operate as usual.
This service will continue every Tuesday and Thursday with the possibility of additional hours if the need arises.
Although our Hoag Road doors may be closed for now, our Y Team is working harder than ever to continue to serve our great Skagit Community during this challenging time while encouraging others to do the same!
For those wishing to participate, please call Community Action's mainline at 360-416-7585 between 9am-4pm Monday-Friday.
