FitOn Health: Frequently Asked Questions

FitOn Health is a company that contracts with both health insurance plans and fitness facilities like the YMCA, so that health plan subscribers can get access to our facilities as one of their covered health plan benefits. FitOn Health is similar to Optum (who offers Renew Active) and American Specialty Fitness (who offers Active & Fit and Silver & Fit). 

In 2024, Washingtonians that have health insurance through Premera Blue Cross Medicare Advantage can have their YMCA membership covered through FitOn Health. Medicare Advantage plans are only accessible to seniors age 65+.  

Until 2023, Premera made their fitness benefit available through Silver & Fit. For 2024, Premera decided to change fitness vendors – they will stop using Silver & Fit and start using FitOn Health starting 1/1/24. This means that those of you covered by Premera only will be moving from Silver & Fit to FitOn Health. For Silver & Fit Members who currently are on a Premera Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Plan, you will need to transition to FitOn in 2024.

You can sign up for FitOn online using their website or app, or by calling their Customer Support line (855-378-6683) to check your eligibility. Once you’ve signed up with FitOn, please bring in the confirmation email that you receive that contains your name, email address, and FitOn member ID number to the Y so that we can finish setting up your Y account.
