Seeing some new faces around the Y? Many of the “new” employees that you see at the front desk are not actually new hires. Many of these employees worked behind the scenes doing administrative work prior to COVID-19 and are now stepping in to assist at the Welcome Center or Wellness Floor in addition to their administrative work. Others were primarily located at other Y facilities such as our Bakerview Sports Center and have been trained to assist at multiple Y locations. These employees that have remained with our Y have shown incredible flexibility and dedication to the Y as they have stepped up to serve in ways that go well beyond what they were initially hired for.

Our new flexible staffing model is key to keeping our operating costs low so that our Y can continue to serve our community during COVID. We look forward to welcoming back more long-time employees in our newly updated positions.
