Kick off the New Year with AOA-FIT Functional Fitness Testing. Our functional fitness testing is a two part program that will provide you with information about your current physical strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance and identify any areas of weakness associated with the tasks and activities important to everyday living. The test is based on a functional fitness frame work that measures your ability to perform everyday activities, like personal care, shopping or housework. These day to day activities require the ability to perform a range of functional movements and our AOA-FIT program uses functional movement tasks, such as standing, bending, lifting, reaching and walking that are measured through seven physical tests. In session one you will participate in seven physical tests; You should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for exercising and athletic shoes. At the second session we’ll go over your fitness assessment results and discuss what your scores mean. + So if you've been planning to start an exercise program your test results can help you chose a class appropriate for your goals or aid you in designing your own program to help improve or maintain your functional fitness level. + Our AOA –FIT Functional Fitness Testing program will be led by Liz McNett Crowl a health and fitness professional with 40+ years of experience at the Skagit Valley Family YMCA and a long time advocate for healthy living. + Fitness Testing Session is Thursday APRIL 9th 10:30-12pm wear comfortable workout clothes and shoes. We will be meeting in the Community Room & Intergenerational Room. Test Results will be discusses the following week Thursday APRIL 16TH 11:30am—1pm We will be meeting in the YMCA Community Room.
