The Skagit Valley Family YMCA is collecting winter clothing donations from October 6 to October 31 to support local teens and young adults served at the Skagit Y’s Sedro-Woolley Rec Center and Oasis Youth Shelter.
Donations needed include hoodies, plus-sized clothing, coats with fun colors or patterns, small men’s pants, new or lightly used socks, new underwear, jewelry and accessories, belts, weatherproof shoes, and pajama pants with fun colors or patterns. Donated clothes will be distributed to the Rec Center and Oasis shelter and made available to any teen or young adult in need of clothing this fall and winter.
“Winter can be a difficult season for many young people in our community, but together we can ensure teens and young adults have warmth, comfort, and dignity,” said Skagit Y Oasis Shelter Manager Danielle Vincent. “When you give, you’re not just donating clothing—you’re sharing kindness and hope.”
Donations of new or gently used clothing items can be dropped off at the Skagit Valley Family YMCA (1901 Hoag Road, Mount Vernon), the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce (301 W Kincaid St, Mount Vernon), the Burlington Chamber of Commerce (520 E Fairhaven Ave, Burlington), and the Sedro-Woolley Chamber of Commerce (810 Metcalf Street, Sedro-Woolley).
This drive is made possible with support from the Skagit Y’s Chris Mang Memorial Fund, which honors Chris Mang’s legacy by funding programs that promote inclusion, support local teens, and create opportunities through the Skagit Y. Proceeds from the fund benefit Skagit County Special Olympics programs, the Oasis Teen Shelter, the Sedro-Woolley Rec Center, and financial assistance for local youth enrolling in Y programs.
