Pool Announcements



The McIntyre Aquatic Center includes:

  • Lap Pool
    • 6 lap lanes; available until 3 pm on weekdays
  • The Hilde Family Recreation Pool
    • Teaching Pool
    • Splashpad
    • Lazy River
  • Hot Tub
  • Steam Rooms (currently closed)
Weekday reservations are no longer required; however, when swim lessons are taking place in the teaching pool, the splashpad and lazy river will require reservations. (Note that these reservations are not tied to Covid-19, but rather to keeping our pool capacity reasonable while swim lessons are taking place.) Reservations will also be required on Saturday afternoons from 12-close.

Public Group Swim Lessons

Group Swim Lessons are returning for Fall 2021! We are offering lessons to two age groups: 3-5 and 6-12. To learn more about lessons, including stages and schedules, please click on the appropriate button below.

Private Swim Lessons

Chinooks Swim Team

The Skagit Valley Family YMCA (SVFY) Chinooks is a year-round dual YMCA/USA competitive swim team. We offer high quality coaching and technical instruction based on the swimmers age and ability. Our goal is to provide every team member an opportunity to improve their skills and achieve success—from novice to national level. All of this while instilling a love of swimming, self-confidence and perseverance.

Our 2021-2022 Swim Team is currently full.

Lifeguard Training

The Skagit Valley Family YMCA has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide Lifeguarding courses at the Y.  You can find more information about these classes at the American Red Cross website.
