Safety Around Water
Safety around water is central to our Y. Every year, too many preventable water accidents and drownings occur, so the Y is doing its part to help educate and teach Skagitonians of all ages how to be safe around any type of water, not just our pool.
Swim For Life
Learning to swim is an essential skill for all ages. As the largest provider of swim lessons in the country, the Y helps people gain the comfort and confidence to enjoy swimming as a lifelong activity.
Community Safety Courses
The Skagit Valley Family YMCA has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide Community Safety courses at the Y, including Lifeguarding, First Aid/CPR, and Babysitters Training.
The Skagit Valley Family YMCA Aquatics team (SVYA) is a year-round dual YMCA/USA competitive swim team. We offer high quality coaching and technical instruction based on the swimmers age and ability.
We are excited to welcome this year's local fourth grade students for swim lessons teaching them how to be safe in and around water! During the following dates and times the TEACHING POOL WILL BE CLOSED and the locker rooms, pool deck, recreation pool will be busier than normal.
We will be welcoming back our Special Olympics swim team on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:00pm on 3/9-5/25. During this time Lanes 1-3 will be unavailable for lap swim.
