With over a dozen sites serving children ages infant to 5th grade, Skagit Y Childcare aims to fit the unique needs of families across our diverse Skagit community. Our programs are designed to provide parents and guardians with a safe environment where their children can gain knowledge, learn practical skills, and develop positive values.
Our qualified staff are dedicated to the safety and personal development of each child and help start them on the path to becoming strong and confident future adults. Whether your child is participating in a structured activity or free play, our staff teach all Y children the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility by demonstrating and reinforcing these positive behaviors.
Important Registration Information
Families enrolling in our Early Learning or School-Age programs will need to have a Family Membership in order to receive the member discount. Non member discounts are not available for Blended Preschool. Unlike previous years, a youth membership will not give you the member discount. Membership will be verified by office staff before assigning the lower rate. A 10% Military discount is available for all military personnel. Interested in signing up for a family membership? Sign up here.
CURRENT SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAM FAMILIES, please use your existing Brightwheel account to register. You may receive forms to read and sign that you have already signed. These are annual licensing requirements, and we are working on sending them out just once per year.
Registration forms are assessed in the order they are received. If the form is missing any items, it will be sent back to you to complete, and you will be moved back to the start of the process. Please remember to include your phone number and email address.
After completing initial registration, you will be sent separate forms to read and sign through Brightwheel. This does not guarantee your spot. Only after you’ve submitted these secondary forms and they’ve been approved will you be notified if you have secured a spot in our program. Please allow us time to process your registration.
All correspondence will go out through our Brightwheel app. Please make sure you check your email for further information from Brighthwheel. Each year we learn new ways of using Brightwheel to streamline our processes and appreciate your patience while we make these changes!

All of our ELCs are licensed by the Department of Children, Youth, and Family (DCYF).
DSHS subsidies are accepted and scholarships are offered to those who qualify. Starting in September 2022, families with a Family Membership at the Skagit Y will receive a discount on ELC program fees.

Y Blended Preschool (offered in partnership with the Sedro-Woolley School District) focuses on the developmental needs of children ages 3 – 4 years old and uses a curriculum that aligns with local school districts to ensure kindergarten readiness. Y Preschools are “blended” as children with special needs and typically developing children learn alongside one another. This helps all children develop problem-solving skills while practicing kindness, compassion, and respect.
Blended Preschool is part-time care only. Hours for Central Elementary (Sedro-Woolley) are as follows:

- Wednesday (10am-noon)

If you are looking for full-time preschool care, our Early Learning Centers offer full-time care.
