Impact Skagit: Change the Story for Skagit County Youth

The season of giving is here—and so is Impact Skagit!

This annual year-end campaign is all about lifting up young people in our community who need us most. Together, we hope to raise $250,000 by December 31 to support at-risk youth across Skagit County—helping them experience connection, safety, and hope this winter and throughout the year.

As the end of the year approaches, many of us look forward to family gatherings, good meals, and the warmth of home. But too many youth in our community face a very different reality. For them, winter can mean empty cupboards, unsafe homes, or long days spent alone. At the Skagit Valley Family YMCA, we believe no young person should have to face those challenges alone—and with your help, they won’t have to.

When you give to Impact Skagit, your generosity fuels life-changing support for local youth:

  • A safe place to sleep at night. At the Oasis Youth Shelter, teens experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity find warmth, nutritious meals, and caring case managers ready to help them build a path toward stability.
  • Someone to turn to in times of crisis. Through Street Outreach Services, YMCA staff connect with youth on the streets, offering transportation, job help, and the essentials they need to stay safe and move forward.
  • A community after school. At our Sedro-Woolley Rec Center, middle and high schoolers can drop in for free to play, study, or unwind with friends—with hot meals provided and caring staff who listen and guide.
  • Access for all: Y for All scholarships that ensure every child can access childcare, youth sports, and summer camp—no matter their family’s income.

Every dollar you give helps change a young person’s story—from isolation to connection, from fear to safety, from uncertainty to hope.

Join us and make your impact today. Together, we can make sure every young person in Skagit County feels seen, supported, and safe—this winter and beyond.

Did you know you can now give one of your most meaningful gifts to the Skagit Y without giving cash?

Our partner FreeWill makes it easy to give non-cash assets, which can have a bigger impact at less cost to the donor. These non-cash giving opportunities include gifts through Donor-Advised Funds, crypto gifts, IRA gifts, and stock gifts.

This is a meaningful opportunity to consider how your generosity can make a lasting difference, all while fitting your unique plans and values.
