Flag Football
🏈 Youth Flag Football at the Y! 🏈
Calling all future football stars in grades 1–8! Our Youth Flag Football league brings the excitement of the NFL FLAG program right here to the Y.
This non-contact league gives every player—no matter their skill level—a chance to learn and grow. Kids will:
Build fundamental football skills using the official NFL FLAG curriculum
Practice teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership
Make new friends and have fun in a positive, inclusive environment
And because we know kids love to play, teams will play up to two games per week!

2026 Fall Flag Football
Open to grades 1 – 8, Youth Flag Football will follow the NFL Flag Football curriculum. NFL FLAG leagues are no contact, giving youth of all abilities a chance to develop their fundamental football skills in a positive, inclusive environment.
The flag football program is structured so that kids can discover the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship—both on and off the field.
Teams will play up to two games each week.
- Start Date: Wednesday, August 12
- Finish Date: Saturday, October 10
- Location: Bakerview Park, Mount Vernon
No Request Policy
- The Skagit Valley Family YMCA does not take requests for teams.
- Teams will be formed by using the following criteria:
- Age or grade (depending on season or sport).
- School the individual attends.
- If home schooled, location of the individual’s home.
- If age or grade appropriate, siblings will be placed on the same team.
