Taekwondo

We are excited to invite Master Jong Kyu Heo, Grand Master of Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do and Kum Do to the Skagit Y for two Taekwondo programs in December!

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that uses the legs/feet to attack and the hands/arms to block. It is the largest martial art in the world in terms of practitioners and is only one of two martial arts in the Olympics (the other being the Japanese grappling art of Judo). The words Tae (stomp), Kwon (fist) Do (way of) are loosely translated as “the way of the hand and the foot.”

There is no special equipment required to participate, but participants should wear exercise clothing and good shoes and be ready for a good workout!

If there is enough interest in Taekwondo, we will invite Master Jong back to teach regular classes at the Y, so sign up today! Free for members and $15 for community members.
