We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Halloween Spooktacular event on Saturday, October 22 for families to celebrate the Halloween season!

It’s been a few years since our last Halloween event at the Y, but we’re thrilled to bring this fun event back. We will have a wide range of Halloween-themed activities for kids and parents alike to enjoy. Here’s a peek at what you can enjoy at this event:

  • Carnival games (including a witch hat ring toss, spider catapults, cornhole, and more)
  • A spooooky pumpkin patch (bring a pumpkin home!)
  • Halloween-themed arts and crafts
  • Kona Ice and other sweet treats
  • Community resource booths, including Skagit Kid Insider, Help Me Grow, United Way, and more!

The Halloween Spooktacular event will take place on Saturday, October 22 from 4:30-7:30pm.

To ensure that all participants have adequate opportunities to participate in the activities and so that we don’t exceed our building capacity, we ask that you pre-register for a 45-minute block of time in which you attend. Walk-ins will also be welcomed, but we encourage you to pre-register to ensure entrance at each session! PRE-REGISTER HERE.

We strongly encourage a $5 donation per participant. Funds raised at this event will support camp scholarships for 2023 summer camps!

Don’t forget to wear your Halloween costume! 🙂

Donate Blood at the Y with the Red Cross!

The Skagit YMCA is excited to be partnering with the Red Cross to provide community blood drives in the following months! Giving blood is a great way to give back to your community – one donation can save up to three lives!

If you have questions about these events, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or email Blood Donor Coordinator Justin Davies at [email protected]

Our next blood drive is 12:00-5:00pm on Monday, November 28.

Type 98273 or SkagitYMCA into the search field to see available appointments.

Interested in volunteering for the Blood Drive? We’re looking for extra hands to help the event go smoothly! Volunteers would help check in blood donors and will be given a “speed” training 15 minutes before the blood drive starts. Please reach out to Justin Davies at [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer for a 2.5 hour shift!

Upcoming Community Cafe Events (Ongoing)

Community Café events are free, virtual discussion group for adults ages 55+.

Each session includes a brief (15-20 min) topical introduction on the topic for the week; facilitated small-group discussions (where you will have the opportunity to share experiences and perspectives or simply listen to your peers); and a closing large-group reflection.

Please be aware that you must pre-register for all events.
